What we offer at All About The K-9.

AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY

The AKC STAR Puppy Class is a 6-week program designed for puppies aged 12 weeks to 7 months, focusing on essential social skills, basic obedience, and building a strong bond between owners and their pups. In this class, puppies will learn basic commands like sit, down, stay, and come, while also developing confidence through socialization with other puppies and people. The course addresses common puppy behaviors such as jumping, biting, and barking using positive reinforcement techniques. Fun activities and games keep the training engaging, while owners gain valuable insights into their puppy's needs and responsible pet ownership. To participate, puppies must be at least 12 weeks old with their first round of vaccinations, and owners need to provide vaccination records. Upon successful completion, puppies receive the AKC STAR Puppy medal and certificate, celebrating their progress, although the AKC STAR Puppy test requires a separate appointment and charge.

PUPPY FOUNDATION

The Puppy Foundation program at All About The K-9 is designed for puppies aged 8 months and older, focusing on essential foundational skills such as basic obedience commands (sit, stay, come, leash walking) and socialization with other puppies and people. Using positive reinforcement techniques, this program ensures an enjoyable and effective training experience for both puppies and owners. The class aims to help puppies develop good behavior while fostering a positive relationship between owners and their pups, all within a safe and supportive environment. Additionally, owners will gain valuable insights into understanding their puppy's behavior and needs.

BEGINNER OBEDIENCE

The Beginner Obedience program at All About The K-9 is a six-week course designed for dogs that have mastered basic commands and are ready to advance their training. Each 45-minute session focuses on refining obedience skills and strengthening the bond between dogs and their owners. The class introduces advanced commands like "leave it," "wait," and "go to your mat," improves leash manners to prevent pulling, and builds focus in environments with controlled distractions. Additionally, impulse control techniques help dogs learn patience. The course emphasizes positive reinforcement and provides owners with valuable handling and communication skills. At the end of the program, dogs are evaluated for potential progression to intermediate training based on their progress and the instructor’s recommendation.

INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED

The Intermediate/Advanced Obedience program  builds on foundational skills to enhance your dog’s obedience, focus, and bond with you. Designed for dogs who have completed beginner obedience or have equivalent experience, this 6-week class covers advanced commands, impulse control, leash manners, and recall reinforcement, with an emphasis on reliability under distraction. The class includes occasional field trips to parks and stores to practice in real-world settings. With expert trainers, small class sizes, and a focus on positive reinforcement, this program helps build your dog's confidence and strengthens your relationship through engaging, fun training.
